Couldve done a little bit more at origin level, apart from one tackle on a 70kg bloke the origin highlight reel is pretty ordinary i reckon Daniel Diefenbach Aaron Gain

Love that time he dragged an opponent across the sideline by the collar of his jersey. Gordie the Great!

Will not watch as he is always bagging the Broncos.

I remember being in the Runaway bay pub for the last one, there were about 170 ppl in the pub, after the match started we realized there were about 167 NSW fans and us 3 qld supporters, we were yelling when Mark Coyne went over, I realized the pub was quiet and everyone was staring at us, looked at the barman and he gave the barmans head nod, which means "I suggest that you should leave", good times

Man I love watching Lockyer play.

They were the glory days loved those Qld players

Everyone raves about J.T. and Billy Slater. But without Darren Lockyer would Queensland have been so dominant?
Lockys 06 try would probably be my fave, but there was something so gutsy about the 2018 comeback (JT’s last game). I was certain we were gone that game, and Gagai just transformed at the end . JT’s kick is unforgettable☺

Glad this has come up. Get a real Deep Maroon for the playing jersey..The jerseys lately have looked washed out...Get a bit of shine to em...QUEENSLANDER...

Go with original 80s jersey with all players names in grey strips on sleeves and tummy
Or we could put NSW series wins on a button

Keep the design from this year - obviously the “50 years” lettering will be off but why not reinvest the savings back into the series due to the possible cancellation of this years origin?

It’s pretty easy. All maroon. White Q on chest. White number on the back. That’s all it ever needs to be.

Nate Myles was an Origin beast! All the lads loved lining up beside him!

It’s not Game 3 2006. That was in Melbourne this is in Sydney. Looks like Game 1 2006.

A team of out and out champions. There was some passion on the field that night.
Apr 01, 2020 at 15:43
One of the great defensive efforts that night in Sydney but also Mateship, that’s what Queensland and Australia is all about.

Not too much praise for the man. Injury will come.

Hope he stays at Broncos in 2021.

The best whenever he played for Queensland. Who else plays a game with one arm out, defends stoutly, and still keeps quality opposition from scoring.
Mar 31, 2020 at 13:08
Played his best footy at the Bulldogs.
Steve Folks was the man that turned him into not only a regular 1st grader but also a rep player.
He sat on the bench at Parra the year before he came across.
04 he killed it every game agains Hodges and it earned him his call up.
Great player, humble human and still one of my favorites to pull on the Dogs and Qld jersey
Mar 31, 2020 at 06:29
I love this series of the men who playrd in the maroon jersey. I remember Willy well when he played for the Cowboys. He certainly put his heart and sole into every game, whether it was club or state. Nice to know you are still involved in the great sport of Rugby League, mate!

I met Willie and he is one of the most genuine people you will ever meet. Always loved him as a player and now I cherish him even more as a person ❤❤❤

Absolutely one of the greats , humble guy and was blessed with talent. Played in an era with an outstanding team.

Have always said, and will always say that J T is the best team player and kicker ever and this just shows us again how good he was. Miss him not playing and so pleased to see these great videos. In that era Qld had a great team. All fast and knew their jobs
Mar 30, 2020 at 14:58
I never seen any other player playing with so much heart and effort. For some reason the whole team had different kinda energy when he was part of it, only reason i started watching nrl, that was just because of him. Salute
Mar 30, 2020 at 15:39
The greatest number 7 ever may also had the greatest Origin sledge so far ‘It was 2015 when the Queensland champion turned to Mitchell Pearce late in game three and said “he should probably get a photo with Wally’s statue (the Wally Lewis statue outside Suncorp Stadium) because that’s the closest he was going to get to holding the shield”.

"There was a good crowd, a great atmosphere and Arthur was like a two-year-old and extremely excited, and that was a big positive" #QLDER

Yes J L was a true champion. Used to chat with him often when we both worked in maintenance at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. He was an electrician and I was one of the labourers.
Apr 01, 2020 at 12:30
Great two player's and great legend's in our game of rugby league. You wouldn't have found a tuffer man then the late Arthur Beetson, and for Johnny Lang was a good dummy half runner always thinking what he was going to do next. R.I.P. big Arthur Beetson.

Great team, Easts tigers in the late 70 s in the Brisbane comp. I remember Lindenburgh, as a well known player, many other big names, just can't recall names

Good to read JL; you always gave your all.I will always remember the sight of Artie leading you boys onto Lang Park for that first origin - he was magnificent, as you all were, but to see our big Artie in a Queensland jersey was the ultimate!
