In January 2018 The Duke of Sussex met The Rowing Marine Lee Spencer, to wish him luck ahead of his challenge to row 3,500 miles from mainland Europe to South America in support of the Endeavour Fund.
The Duke recently called Lee to congratulate him on completing his row across the Atlantic in 60 days, becoming the first disabled person to row from continent to continent and breaking the able-bodied record for the route by 36 days.
The Endeavour Fund, created by the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, supports the ambitions of wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans wishing to use sport and adventurous challenge as part of their recovery and onward rehabilitation.
