Civility is about policing ‘manners’ not ‘opinions’. Too many ‘woke folk’ try to use the civility argument as a means to shut down ‘opinion’. And largely those doing so have no ‘manners’ to speak of at all.

Is the Telegraph finally getting the message?
It’s a hard way to find out who your readers are when you have an article advising people to keep it civil. Instead of lashing out vileness to Remainers your readers are being vile to your Reporter who is Indian and advising people to be civil online.

True. Especially if your name is Soubry, Lammy, Abbott, McDonnell, Hammond, the list is endless. I personally never use the word snowflake unless it has 'extra special' in front of it and then it's a phrase. I do work hard, each and every single day, to be kind to one person who does not deserve it. One. The rest of the time, it's open season on those who incite division and hate.

If you give people a platform to use, they will use it. Those who attract the most critical comments are those who seek to have a high profile - if they are basically too stupid for words, like Abbott, they should expect severe criticism.
