No Bake Ube Yema Cake | 2n1 cake | No Oven cake | Chifon cake (Steamed Cake)

Ingredients:

1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp powdered milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 egg yolks
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil(canola oil)
1 tsp ube flavor
1 tsp violet food color

Meringue:
4 egg whites
1 tsp white vinegar
1/2 cup white sugar

Yema Frosting:

1 cup evaporated milk
2 egg yolks
150ml condensed milk
1 1/2 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp butter(margarine)
1 tsp vanilla extract

Ube-yema frsoting:

1 cup evapoarted milk
2 egg yolks
150ml condensed milk
1 1/2 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp ube flavor
2 tsp violet food color

Toppings:

70g grated cheese

Procedure: Chiffon cake

1) Bring 1 liter water to a boil
2) Combine all purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, powdered milk and salt. Mix well
3) Combine egg yolks, vegetable oil, water and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended
4) Combine dry and wet ingredients. mix well
5) Meringue: Beat egg whites until foamy
6) Add white vinegar and beat until soft peaks form
7) Gradually add sugar and beat until stiff peaks form
8) Fold meringue into the cake batter
9) Divide cake batter into two equal parts
10)Ube cake: add 1 tsp ube flavor and 1 tsp violet food color. Fold
11)Pour cake batter into the llanera(size:L6 x W4 x H 1 1/2").Pour together about 1/2 cup ube chiffon cake batter and 1/2 cup plain chiffon cake batter
12)Steam 20-25 minutes over medium heat. *don't forget to wrap the lid with clean cloth to prevent water from dripping into the cake
13)Do the toothpick check and if it comes out clean the cake is cook. * but if it's still wet extend cooking time and check every 5 minutes
14)Turn the pan upside down onto the cooling rack and let it cool.
15)Slide knife around the cake
16)Remove pan(llanera) and peel off the parchment paper
17)Cool Completely

Frosting:

(Yema)
1) Combine evapoarted milk and cornstarch. Mix well
2) Add condensed milk and egg yolks. Mix well
3) Turn the heat on. Cook over low heat and continue stirring until thick
4) Add butter and vanilla extract. Mix well
5) Turn the heat off and let it cool

(Ube yema frosting)
1) Combine evapoarted milk and cornstarch. Mix well
2) Add condensed milk and egg yolks. Mix well
3) Turn the heat on. Cook over low heat and continue stirring until thick
4) Add 1 tsp ube flavor and 2 tsp violet food color
5) Add butter and mix well
6) Turn the heat off and let it cool

Assemble:

1) Frost the cake
2) top with grated cheese
