This training, which has included medical training, leadership development, intelligence, equipment care, logistics and human rights will help build a more stable and prosperous Somalia.

Working under the strong downwash created by the rotors of a Chinook helicopter, troops from 13 Air Assault Support Regiment Royal Logistic Corps practised key skills to move supplies around the battlefield.

97 year old Kenneth Foster and his wife Vera celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in the Lord Mayor of Sheffield’s Parlour this week. Pte Foster fought in Normandy with the West Yorkshire Regiment, where he lost a leg in August 1944. Congratulations Ken and Vera!

Cpl Stevens, a Crew Commander with C Squadron, The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards has recently been presented the "Order of the Spurs" by the U.S. Army whilst deployed on Operation Cabrit in Poland.

In order to earn his spurs he competed in a three-day challenge led by 3/278 Armoured Cavalry Regiment and the Tennessee National Guard.

Cpl Neil is a gunner aboard a Jackal of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (SCOTS DG), currently deployed on Op Cabrit in Poland.

C Squadron, SCOTS DG are deployed as part of the UK’s commitment to NATO’s Enhanced Forward presence in Poland and the Baltic states. The Operation is helping to ensure security in Eastern Europe and provide reassurance to NATO allies.

Army and defence buildings have been lit up to mark 20 years since the ban on LGB personnel serving in the Armed Forces was lifted.

Soldiers-under-training from Infantry Training Centre, Catterick made the most of this winter, getting to grips with a range of Adventurous Training (AT) activities across the rolling hills of Cumbria.

The troops, who were taught valuable lessons in physical courage, teamwork and determination, braved the package which included abseiling, caving, climbing and paddling.

Colchester’s airborne gunners worked with Royal Air Force helicopters at the end of last year to demonstrate their specialist ability to fire and manoeuvre by air.

Exercise Cypher Strike, saw the full range of 7 Parachute Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery's skills and capabilities tested over three weeks, to show their readiness for short-notice operations around the world.
